The Bulletin, Central Oregon’s paper of record, is seeking an experienced reporter to cover general assignment topics as well as development and transportation, especially as those subjects intersect with local government policy and with the lives of Central Oregonians.
This position is best suited to a self-starting, curious reporter who pays attention to the details and spots the interesting things that others might overlook.
This reporter needs to be self-directed and able to juggle daily stories and enterprise work. Candidates should be able to pivot quickly as news develops. Critical thinking, digital publication skills and stellar writing chops are a must, along with strong social media skills.
Daily media reporting experience, a bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field, or a combination of experience and education is required.
This position is located in Bend, Oregon, a fast-growing and vibrant city surrounded by snow-capped mountains and boundless outdoor recreation opportunities, plus a lively entertainment scene. The Bulletin is a part of EO Media Group, a privately held, family-owned company dedicated to community journalism in the Pacific Northwest.
This is a 37.5-hour per week position, generally working Tuesday through Saturday. We are a drug-free workplace and an equal opportunity employer.
