Simon Nixon, columnist and chief leader writer at The Times, has left after more than eight years. He wrote on X/Twitter:
“It was a privilege to help steer the paper’s thinking during some tumultuous years for Britain and the world.”
Nixon worked at The Wall Street Journal for more than nine years, holding the posts of European editor for Heard on the Street and chief European commentator. Before that, he was executive editor of breakingviews.com at Reuters.
Nixon graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University.
