The Athens Banner-Herald has hired Sara Tidwell as a sports reporter to cover prep and college athletics. She will join from The Sporting News, where she interned.
Tidwell freelanced as a sports reporter for The Detroit News, MassLive.com and Yardbarker, and interned at The Cincinnati Enquirer.
She held the posts of gymnastics beat reporter, health reporter, culture reporter, men’s basketball junior reporter, men’s soccer reporter and women’s basketball senior reporter at The State News, Michigan State University’s student paper.
Tidwell has a B.A. from Michigan State University.
