The Advocate/Times-Picayune – the largest news organization in Louisiana – is looking for a paginator for our award-winning Sports sections. We’re looking for someone who can help us juggle editions in our three print markets — Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Lafayette. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and able to work on multiple pages and editions a night without breaking a sweat as deadline looms. If you can make pages stand out and headlines sing, have an excellent grasp of AP style and are a team player, apply now! Remote work will be considered.
Requirements:
- Experience with InDesign and Photoshop required; knowledge of Illustrator is a plus.
Preferred but not required:
- Design experience at a daily newspaper.
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field preferred.
- Considerable knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Considerable knowledge of newspaper page design and pagination.
- Good knowledge of media production and written communication methods.
