Lina Ruiz will join the Fort Worth Star-Telegram to cover early childhood. She will begin on July 10. She wrote on Twitter:

Recently, she was a watchdog reporter at TCPalm, where she has covered government, development, transportation, environment and other topics. Previously, she interned at the Orlando Sentinel and CBS station WKMG-TV Ch. 6 in Orlando.
Ruiz obtained her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Florida, where she worked at The Independent Florida Alligator student newspaper in various roles, including digital managing editor.
