We’re seeking a curious, collaborative multi-media Reporter/Host to cover general news topics of importance to a 14-county region and produce local news reports/casts for digital, social and broadcast platforms as host of the afternoon news magazine (All Things Considered).

The Reporter/Host reports to the News Director and is expected to file two short stories per week and work in close collaboration with the morning Reporter/Host to produce daily local news reports/casts. Your pitches and assignments will include day-of stories, enterprise packages and hosting 2ways for multiple media distribution platforms including broadcast radio, web, social, and emerging platforms. Anchoring the afternoon news magazines, you’ll build our broadcast and digital audience by keeping the audience connected and informed.

We are open to providing radio host and audio training to candidates who bring strong journalism skills from another medium.
We’re looking for candidates with:
- Five (5) or more years of reporting experience/production or experience as a broadcast host or equivalent oral presentation experience.
- Demonstrated news judgement, ethics and creative approaches to storytelling.
- Enthusiasm about using journalism engagement practices to serve audiences.
- Ability to handle breaking news during regular on-air shifts and host special programming.
- Comfort presenting and producing news content on a variety of topics.
- Demonstrated record of collaboration with colleagues from various perspectives and experiences on team projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with and commitment to the work of diversity, equity and inclusion in content, staff and community partners.
- Experience with recording and editing video and audio.
- An ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment where attention to detail and accuracy is key.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Comfort using a variety of technology, including studio and remote recording equipment, digital editing software, content management systems, social media and project management platforms.
- Professionalism: punctual, reliable, and willing to occasionally work weekend and evening hours.
- Ability to respond constructively to feedback and positively engage with collaborative and team-based projects.
Salary range is $55,000-70,000 per year based on experience.
