The Buffalo Bulletin, a nationally recognized weekly publication located in the breathtaking Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming, is seeking a General Assignment Reporter to join our team. Our publication specializes in local news and is committed to delivering high-quality, impactful stories that matter to our readers.
Responsibilities:
- Research, report, write and produce excellent content for print, online and social media. Video a plus!
- Develop and maintain sources within the community
- Attend events, meetings and other activities to cover and report on news and stories relevant to the community
- Pitch story ideas and contribute to editorial meetings
- Edit and proofread content for accuracy and clarity
- Collaborate with other reporters, editors and photographers to produce high-quality content
Qualifications:
- This is an entry level position. We like to train from within.
- A bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field or equivalent is preferred.
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
- Familiarity with AP style and digital publishing platforms
- Passion for storytelling
