The Morning Call is looking for a digital content producer to get our news report started each morning.
What you will do:
- This person will quickly identify and report on/curate breaking news and trending stories, focusing on the topics our digital subscribers value most
- These topics include crime and public safety, weather, major traffic tie-ups, but also anything else that our readers are talking about on any given day
- The position also entails monitoring social platforms, wire services, partners and competitors for anything breaking/trending that is of interest to our audience, and getting it posted across all our platforms in a timely manner
- This person works quickly and independently, and is able to shift gears at a moment’s notice
What you will bring:
- Successful candidate is self-motivated
- A team player who possesses strong news judgment and social media skills
- Cleanly write, multi-task and maintain a commitment to accuracy while working quickly
- Ability to keep an eye on what is driving audience interest and best SEO and headline practices
- College degree and some journalism experience required
Salary: $20 to $25 per hour
