Job Description:
- Work as part of The Washington Post’s newsroom.
- Write articles covering competition, data collection, privacy, disinformation, and other concerns in the digital world.
- Investigate how technology giants are harvesting artificial intelligence and algorithms to shape what consumers buy, read, watch, and believe.
- Interview people who have information, analysis, or opinions about Alphabet, its numerous divisions, the actions of the company’s leaders, and the issues facing its enormous workforce.
- Examine how Silicon Valley players are developing and deploying artificial intelligence and algorithms. Produce compelling news stories through words, video, and data.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and 5 years of experience as a news reporter.
- 2 years of experience as a tech reporter
- 5 years of experience researching tech companies and their latest developments
- 5 years of experience synthesizing research findings
- 5 years of experience doing investigative journalism in the tech field
- 5 years of experience writing news articles for major publications.
- All experience can be earned concurrently. Job is in San Francisco, CA.
- Telecommuting from within the regular commuting area of San Francisco, CA is permissible.
Estimated salary: $62.8K – $79.5K a year
