Russell Sherman of Press Profiles interviewed Bloomberg Television anchor Francine Lacqua about her career.
Lacqua’s father was a journalist who was stationed in the United States, Russia and France. “He always made me part of the conversation,” she said.
She learned work ethic from her father. “He never got tired about talking about stories,” she said. “He is still intense, even now.”
Interviewing President Bill Clinton early in her career made her realize the importance of listening to answers and asking follow-up questions based on what is said.
Lacqua said she once chased a chief executive officer for four years before he agreed to an on-the-air interview. She researches months in advance, sometimes, before an interview.
