NY Times names Cramer police bureau coverage chief

After a six-month stint on the New York Times travel desk, Maria Cramer is moving from Express to join Metro as police bureau coverage chief.

Cramer joined the Times as a breaking news reporter in 2019 afterr serving at The Boston Globe. At the Globe, she covered police, public safety, federal courts and legal issues, both as a beat reporter and on the Spotlight team.

Previously, she reported on municipal government, police and state and county politics for The Trenton Times.

Cramer graduated from Rutgers College in New Brunswick, N.J.
