Northwestern University’s Medill News Service posts its business stories from its students online. You can find them here.
I think this is a great idea, and I wish other schools that teach business journalism, including my own, did this. It gives the students exposure, and it allows media outlets looking for potential hires to scan the stories without having to receive clips from the students.
I did this four years ago when I taught at the University of Richmond, but only for the best stories in a business reporting class. This looks like everything Medill is putting out, and it includes a range of stories, from hard news to features. I like the baseball card industry story at the top — though as a collector I found a fact error. Upper Deck is 16 years old, not seven.
