Applications have opened for the 2023 Pulitzer Prize competition in Journalism. An excerpt from the announcement reads:
This cycle recognizes work published in the 2022 calendar year. All entries must be received by the Jan. 25, 2023 deadline; a full list of all 15 journalism prize categories is available here.
While most rules remain unchanged, there is a new requirement in the Breaking News Photography and Feature Photography categories. In addition to proof of publication, entries in these categories also must include original, unedited (i.e. as recorded by the camera) versions of submitted images in the supplemental file. This will enable judges to better evaluate the work in keeping with Pulitzer guidelines and photojournalistic best practices.
Photos entered as discrete items in other categories also must satisfy this requirement. Camera-recorded photos may be submitted as screenshots or web links. For more information, please see the Technical Requirements page.
