The following excerpt was sent out from The Washington Post’s local editor Mike Semel, deputy local editor Maria Glod and local enterprise editor Lynda Robinson:

Steve Hendrix

We are thrilled to announce that Steve Hendrix is returning to the Local Enterprise team after a stellar three years as The Post’s Jerusalem correspondent, during which he covered the fall of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the killing of Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh and other major stories. Steve has also played an important role in the Foreign desk’s coverage of Ukraine, most recently with memorable stories from the newly liberated areas around Kharkiv.

In his new role, Steve will write a mix of local, national and foreign stories, with periodic fill-in stints overseas.

His old colleagues are excited to collaborate with him again on breaking news and the ambitious projects that are a hallmark of the Enterprise team’s work. And, of course, he will keep us clued in on everything happening in Takoma Park, where he’s moving back into his home with his wife, Ann Hendrix-Jenkins, and their youngest child, Harry.
