The following excerpt was sent out from The Washington Post’s foreign editor Douglas Jehl, deputy foreign editor Jennifer Amur, interim deputy foreign editor Susan Levin and London hub editor Sara Sorcher:
We are very happy to announce that Victoria Bisset will join The Post as a breaking news reporter at our hub in London.
Vicky is a talented linguist and skilled digital journalist who spent six years covering global news for the BBC before returning to university last year for graduate studies. Her byline will be familiar to our readers; as a contributing reporter on the London hub this year, she demonstrated her speed, versatility and eye for interesting tales as part of the team that produced The Post’s live coverage of the war in Ukraine.
Vicky began her career covering the Middle East and North Africa for BBC Monitoring, then moved to BBC News to become a journalist on the World desk. She covered the pandemic and the 2020 U.S. elections, and she also spent time on the Europe desk covering stories from around the continent.
Vicky is a graduate of King’s College, Cambridge, with a BA in Asian and Middle Eastern studies. She will soon complete an MA in South Asian studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.
