Reporters should have:
- At least 2 years of previous newsroom experience
- A digital-first mindset and voracious reading habits
- Interest in tech, finance, markets, internet culture and economics, and the desire to dig deeper into a beat
- The ability to concisely connect the dots between data and real-world events
- The ability to work quickly and collaboratively as part of a tight-knit, fast-paced team
- An interest in covering the biggest stories of the day
- A nose for identifying overlooked stories, or unusual and unexpected developments
- A devotion to detail and accuracy, and the ability to turn around copy quickly
- Experience using reader data to inform and inspire story choices
- Experience using Datawrapper is a bonus
