Ken Bensinger has joined The New York Times to cover a new beat – right-wing media as part of the democracy team on the Politics desk. Bensinger joined from BuzzFeed News, where he was an investigative reporter and shared a National Magazine Award.
Previously, he reported on the auto industry at the Los Angeles Times, where he and a colleague were finalists for a Pulitzer Prize in national reporting, and won a Gerald Loeb Award.
He worked at The Wall Street Journal, where he covered the art market. After a two-year stint as Variety’s Mexico correspondent, Bensinger rejoined The Wall Street Journal as a staff writer for Smart Money.
Bensinger graduated from Duke University.
