The New York Times has appointed Jennie Coughlin as the Metro desk’s first full-time audience editor.
In her new role, she will be working with story editors and reporters, deliver regular audience reports, develop audience plans for big stories, and work to grow readership for the New York Today newsletter, among other tasks.
Previously, she was an SEO editor. Prior to joining the Times, Coughlin was at Gannett | USA Today Network for over 16 years, where she has held various roles, including senior breaking news editor, audience analyst and data/online editor among others.
She has also reported for Community Newspaper Co. in Milford.
