The Wall Street Journal has tapped Sharon Weinberger as national security editor.
She joins from Yahoo News, where she held the post of Washington bureau chief.
Prior to joining Yahoo in 2018, Weinberger was executive editor of Foreign Policy. Before that, she served as a national security editor at The Intercept.
She has held fellowships at various institutions, including MIT’s Knight Science Journalism program, the International Reporting Program at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
Additionally, Weinberger has covered military science and technology for The New York Times, The Washington Post, the Financial Times, Wired magazine, Nature, the BBC, Discover, and Slate, among other publications.
