Morning Brew seeks a sharp, inventive managing editor to join the team responsible for its B2B editorial operations.
The managing editor, reporting directly to the executive editor, will oversee several B2B publications and should be a voracious reader, a diplomatic communicator, an enthusiastic coach, and a champion of ideas that spark conversation and get to the heart of what people are talking about.
DUTIES:
- Work with writers, editors, designers, and product team to plan, create, and publish articles in an efficient manner.
- Think strategically on how each franchise could launch new initiatives that support Morning Brew’s goals of helping professionals make better decisions.
- Manage 2-3 franchise editors.
- Work with said franchise editors on story selection and editorial vision.
- Hire, mentor, and coach editors and reporters.
- Coordinate cross-franchise collaboration where applicable.
- Work closely with events, growth and audience teams and liaise with revenue on day-to-day questions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8-10 years of editorial experience.
- At least five years of increased managerial experience.
- Outstanding organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Superlative project management skills; detail-oriented, while also multi-tasking.
- Proven leadership skills
