The New York Times Opinion has hired award-winning journalist Lourdes Garcia-Navarro as a podcast host, anchoring a new podcast that will explore the personal side of opinion.
She comes from NPR, where she was host of “Weekend Edition.” Before that, she was an international correspondent at the network. She has also worked at the Associated Press for over 4 years, as a staff producer and staff radio correspondent.
She has also freelanced for the BBC.
Garcia-Navarro has won two Peabody Awards, a Lowell Thomas Award from the Overseas Press Club, an Edward R. Murrow Award from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and the Alliance for Women and the Media’s Gracie Award for outstanding individual achievement.
