BBC News has named Katie Razzall as its first culture editor, replacing former arts editor Will Gompertz. Razzall will be starting her new role in November, covering arts, entertainment and culture in all its forms across the UK.

Razzall has been with the network for over 7 years, serving as a special correspondent, BBC Newsnight, and most recently holding the post of U.K. editor.

Previously, she spent 15 years at Channel 4 News, where she began as a producer, and then became a reporter and presenter.
