“Marketplace” hires Peacher as reporter

Amanda Peacher

Amanda Peacher has joined “Marketplace” as a reporter.

Peacher is a freelance audio reporter and editor who has had her work featured in NPR, U.S. News & World Report, Washington Times, The State, News & Observer, Marketplace and more.

She is also an instructor in audio storytelling at the University of California-San Diego Department of Communication.

She was regional reporter and host of the Locked podcast at Mountain West News Bureau/Boise State Public Radio. She has also served as public insight journalist and Central Oregon bureau chief at Oregon Public Broadcasting.

Peacher’s work has been honored with a National Edward R. Murrow award for feature reporting in a large market, national Gracie awards for investigative and profile reporting, and numerous other awards from the Online News Association, Society of Professional Journalists, Idaho Press Club, and more.

Peacher is a graduate of the University of Oregon.
