Fortune is hiring an energetic and experienced senior tech editor to help lead our coverage of Big Tech, venture capital, fintech, data privacy, consumer tech, and artificial intelligence, among other topics. Technology coverage is a key pillar for Fortune, and we’re looking for an editor who can identify and tell the biggest stories in the most compelling ways. This is a key role in a newsroom that values creativity and collaboration. We’re looking for an editor who can lead with empathy and execute with efficiency.
You will:
- Strategize and execute Fortune’s coverage of all things tech with an eye for the big-picture trends that will shape companies, consumers, and policy
- Determine the focus areas that Fortune will own and deploy staff and freelance resources to create conversation-starting journalism
- Oversee a team of reporters and provide personalized coaching for continued success
- Assign and edit breaking news, exclusive scoops, and longform reporting
- Contribute to our Brainstorm Tech conference and events
- Collaborate with editors and writers across the newsroom on breaking news and special packages
- Ensure our coverage includes a diversity of ideas, perspectives, and voices
- Uphold Fortune’s standards of journalistic rigor, accuracy, and fairness
