AP names Pace and Giarrusso assistant managing editors

Julie Pace and Michael Giarrusso have been appointed assistant managing editors at The Associated Press.

Pace has been with AP for more than 14 years, joining as a White House reporter. She then became chief White House correspondent before recently serving as Washington bureau chief. She has also worked as a multimedia reporter at The Tampa Tribune, WFLA-TV and TBO.com.

Pace holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University.

Giarrusso has been with AP for more than 10 years, and is also the global sports editor. He was previously chief of bureau Arizona/New Mexico. He is also a vice chair at News Media Coalition and a member – board of directors at Sports News Television.

He has also served as editor, National desk, Georgia news editor and director of State news South at AP.

Giarrusso is a B.A. in journalism from University of Georgia.
