Reuters is closing an office in Nottingham, England, that was used as a base for an editing hub five years after it opened, reports Ben Cooper of the Nottingham Post.
Cooper writes, “The company has said that the roles of the staff currently employed at the office are not in jeopardy.
“A Thomson Reuters spokesperson said: ‘Thomson Reuters always looks at ways to run our global business operations more efficiently, as the needs of our customers, and the way we support them, evolve.
“‘This approach sometimes includes changes in our real estate portfolio, to be in the best position to support our customers and employees, and to grow as a business.’
“The agency and financial newswire service, which has operations throughout the world, opened the office as a base for a new ‘global subediting hub’ in 2016, in a bid to “forge a more global” approach to its editorial output.”
