The Wall Street Journal’s Professional Venture Capital group seeks an enterprising, competitive reporter to cover the venture capital deals and issues affecting the industry. WSJ Pro VC is the venture capital profession’s premier source of news, analysis and data about the startup-financing ecosystem. This is a temporary position.
You will break news regularly on the most exciting startups and investors in sectors where venture capitalists are active. You should be comfortable writing often and for a range of platforms, from newsletters to feature pieces for a monthly magazine.
We’re looking for someone with a minimum of five years of hard-news reporting experience, preferably writing about technology and/or finance. You must be able to produce clean, concise and compelling copy under tight deadline pressure. The position requires the ability to analyze complex business, social, tech and economic issues and make them understandable both to industry insiders and a wide-ranging audience alike. You should also be comfortable mining data to generate stories and data-driven insights.
You will report to the Pro Venture Capital Bureau Chief, Matthew Strozier. This position is remote.
