Sudeep Reddy has become managing editor of policy at Politico.
Reddy will oversee the editors and reporters who focus on the economy, finance and taxes, health care, technology and cyber, energy and environment, trade and agriculture, and transportation.
“There’s a tremendous opportunity here to expand our reach with influential audiences globally,” said Politico editor in chief Matthew Kaminski in a memo to the staff. “Sudeep’s team will deliver for subscribers to Pro and AgencyIQ (and whatever we build next) as well as on our website, in newsprint or through recorded voices and images. All editorial groups that fell under Pro – except for defense, cannabis, education and budget – will report to Sudeep.”
Reddy has been a managing editor the past four years — first as the ME responsible for newsroom administration/operations in 2017/2018 along other duties; since then, handling White House and campaign coverage for the past two years.
He will transition from White House and campaign coverage when the election ends and take over the policy teams.
Reddy was previously global economics editor at The Wall Street Journal and a Washington correspondent of The Dallas Morning News.
