Former Say Media President Kim Kelleher is expected to snag the publisher job at Wired magazine, reports Keith Kelly of the New York Post.
Kelly writes, “The move would mean Kelleher beat out rumored inside candidate Drew Schutte, who was shifted from Wired to Details a year ago in the as yet unrealized hope that he could add big tech advertisers to the title’s fashion base.
“Kelleher worked at Condé once before as publisher of Self before jumping in 2010 to Time inc as the first-ever woman publisher of Time Inc.’s Sports Illustrated.
“She was moved to Time as worldwide publisher and snagged Ad Age’s ‘Publisher of the Year’ honor.
“Kelleher joined Say Media in 2012, but resigned from that job last year after the owner of ReadWrite put plans for an IPO on hold. She remained a director of the company’s board.
“At Wired, she replaces Howard Mittman, who was made publisher of GQ when predecessor Chris Mitchell was tapped to be Vanity Fair’s publisher.”
