Managing editor Lloyd Whittington has been promoted to editor at the Triad Business Journal, replacing Rebecca Troyer, who left to become editor of the Denver Business Journal.
Luke Bollinger of the Triad Business Journal writes, “Whittington has been with TBJ since its launch in 1998, beginning as a real estate and economic development reporter and moving within two years into the role of associate editor. He was promoted in October 2011 to managing editor, a role in which he managed day-to-day newsroom operations, the weekly print edition and special publications.
“Often referred to by his colleagues as ‘the finder of all things lost,’ Whittington brings a wealth of institutional and regional knowledge to the editorial direction of TBJ.
“Whittington will begin his new role on April 16. The news organization immediately will begin seeking a managing editor.
“‘I am humbled to be given the privilege to lead a news organization that gave me so many opportunities,’ Whittington said. ‘I’ve learned so much from the editors and leaders throughout my career who invested in me; now I have a greater opportunity to pass it on.'”
