Jared Hunt, the business editor of the Charleston Daily Mail in West Virginia, has been named director of communications for West Virginia attorney general Patrick Morrisey.
Joel Ebert of the Daily Mail writes, “Hunt, a native of Jackson County and a graduate of West Virginia University, will serve as press secretary for the attorney general.
“He will officially join the Office of the Attorney General on June 5.
“Prior to becoming business editor of the Daily Mail in February 2013, Hunt served as the newspaper’s statehouse reporter and was a reporter for Jackson Newspapers.
“‘Jared will bring substantial newsroom experience, a tireless work ethic and strong professional integrity to his role on our team,’ Morrisey said. ‘He will be a great asset to our communications staff and to the State as we continue our work to make West Virginia a great place to live.’
