Gareth Henderson, the business editor of the Rutland Herald in Vermont for the past three years, has been named editor of the Vermont Standard, a weekly newspaper.
A story on the Herald website states, “Henderson, 36, is a graduate of Woodstock Union High School who first penned articles for the Standard as a freelancer during his college years, before working full-time there from 2005 -11.
“He is excited to bring his work life back to the Woodstock area.
“‘The Standard is where I got my start as a journalist and I’m thrilled at the chance to come back and help lead its local coverage as editor,’ Henderson said. ‘Although I loved my work at the Herald, this was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.’
“Vermont Standard Publisher Phil Camp commented, ‘We’re pleased to welcome Gareth back to our team. He has strong roots in this region, which will help us to further serve the people and businesses who want, need, and deserve the Standard to be their local community newspaper.'”
