VentureBeat reporter Evan Blass was on Cheddar on Thursday to talk about breaking news about the latest in smartphone technology before they are officially unveiled.
“There is some such competition, not just among leakers but among everyone in journalism reporting,” he said. “People want to be the first to release information.”
“That competition is what keeps people that are reporting or leaking this on this on their toes,” he added. “We’re not in the days when you can sit on a story for a couple of days or a week anymore. If you have information, it’s pretty likely that someone else is going to have information too.”
“If they put it out first, then suddenly your story becomes valueless.”
