The Tulsa World has named a new business editor, replacing John Stancavage.

A story in the paper states, “John Stancavage, who has served as business editor for the past 17 years, is moving to a position as business columnist.

“He will be replaced by Rod Walton, who has been a reporter in the Business section since 2007. He has been covering the energy beat since 2008.

“‘John has done a terrific job as business editor,’ said Joe Worley, executive editor of the Tulsa World. ‘There is no one in this community who has more knowledge of the business community than he does. With this change, we are able to take better advantage of his expertise. John will be writing several business columns a week, in addition to covering breaking business stories as needed.’

“Worley said the move to a full-time writing position will give Stancavage more of an opportunity to contribute to the World’s business and news coverage both in print and online at tulsaworld.com

“Walton has served in numerous positions at the World as both a reporter and editor.”
