Mark Sutter, the Triad Business Journal editor, announced Tuesday that he plans to step down from the position later this year.
The paper is based in Greensboro and is owned by American City Business Journals. Sutter has been the editor since December 2007.
On Facebook, Sutter wrote, “My tenure at TBJ has been an absolute gift. After 17 years at the News & Record, I never could have guessed when I joined TBJ that I could still learn so much about my craft and myself. I’ve had the opportunity to develop my own approach to running a newspaper and online operations and, best of all, work with an incredible group of talented and dedicated journalists. They never failed to make me look good.”
Sutter plans to spend some time traveling with his wife but may also re-enter journalism in the future.
Sutter is a Michigan State University graduate. He previously worked as a business reporter at the Macon Telegraph in Georgia and at the Greensboro News & Record, where he was city editor.
