TheStreet.com announced Monday that personal finance columnist Robert Powell will join its newsroom to author a regular column and launch a new subscription retirement product.
“Bob is the foremost personal finance and retirement journalist in America,” said TheStreet Chief Executive Officer David Callaway in a statement. “His voice is respected and followed throughout the retirement and financial advisor community and we look forward to bringing his knowledge and writing to TheStreet’s audience.”
Powell will expand TheStreet’s personal finance and retirement coverage for TheStreet.com‘s audience of investors and financial advisors, as well as build a subscription product for more in-depth coverage.
A frequent speaker and moderator, he will also play a key role in TheStreet’s growing events business.
“My hope is that readers and subscribers will think of me as their retirement guide, someone who can help them achieve their retirement and investment goals, avoid costly mistakes, learn how to manage and mitigate the retirement risks they face, and create investment portfolios that will last a lifetime,” said Powell in a statement.
Powell is also a columnist for USA Today and prior to joining TheStreet, he was author of the popular subscription newsletter “Retirement Weekly” at MarketWatch.com. He holds a master’s degree in Journalism from Boston University and a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University.
