Skift Table has hired Erika Adams to cover the business of restaurants.

A story on its website states, “Adams came to us after covering retail over at Racked, then working in restaurants, then parlaying that into writing about restaurants. Adams said she’s especially intrigued by the proliferation of Square payments as well as Resy’s new tech updates for restaurants, which include improvements to its operating system and customer feedback platform — Adams had the story.

“‘If somebody has a bad experience, they will be able to look at the hour in which that happened, the server that was serving that table, how long that server’s shift was, maybe that server needed a break and didn’t get it,’ said Adams. ‘Maybe there was an issue with the menu; they can do menu testing.’

“Adams wants to follow up on this story by speaking to restaurants using Resy’s new tech to find out its true impact. ‘You’re doing a thousand things a minute during a shift, so what is actually helpful and what is just too much?’ asked Adams.”
