Vito Racanelli, a senior writer at Barron’s, sent out the following message to his colleagues on Friday:

Folks, forgive the email blast.

You may have heard that I am leaving Barron’s. I want you to know that I have enjoyed working with you, including making fun of you and occasionally learning from you in my many years here.

It’s been a long and rewarding ride for me at Barron’s/Dow Jones. There is no better place for financial journalism. Excellent colleagues. Publications with the highest standards.  And passionate readers.

For some time now, I’ve been wanting to try something different.  I will be directing editorial projects–print, website and social media–at Fundstrat, an investment research boutique. Into the great wide open, as the great TP said.

I wish all of you and Barron’s/Dow Jones continued and much success. Should you ever need to reach me, don’t hesitate. I’ll be working just a few blocks over. My personal email is below. Feel free to hand it out to whoever might ask.  I hope our paths cross again.

Sincerely,
