Quartz has promoted Oliver Staley to deputy finance editor.
He will report to Jason Karaian, global finance and economics editor based in London.
Staley joined Quartz in early 2016 as a management reporter, after spending 10 years at Bloomberg covering a variety of beats. He joined Quartz At Work for its launch last October, serving up richly reported and gracefully written stories on everything from Walmart’s potential role in closing the US income gap to how Christians talk about God in Silicon Valley.
He has conducted insightful interviews, made “things,” and peered around corners to help readers discover what’s next in the modern world of work.
Staley will be working with Quartz’s finance and economics writers in New York, San Francisco and London, and editing Private Key, Quartz’s new cryptocurrency newsletter.
