The next phase in CNNMoney’s global expansion begins this month. In February, we combined all of CNN’s business programming throughout the world under the CNNMoney brand.
And now we are seeing the payoff in ambitious reporting projects and a slew of new products.
This week, CNNMoney Editor At Large Richard Quest presents his flagship show from Beijing, the centerpiece of a week of coverage on the fast growing tech scene in China. He’ll be joined by Andrew Stevens, our Asia Pacific editor, for an exclusive inside look at the work life at Huawei, one of China’s biggest success stories. Viewers will also meet the woman trying to block Uber’s $1 billion bet on China – the 37-year-old CEO of Didi Chuxing.
In coming weeks, CNNMoney turns its attention to Africa, with a deep look at the crippling effect of cheap oil on Nigeria. CNNMoney’s Africa correspondent Eleni Giokos tells the story of a country whose rapid rise has been brought to an abrupt halt. Our audience is fascinated by the new areas we are taking them to: Look no further than the success of Eleni’s recent Facebook Live from Lagos.
This month we are also launching new digital video series. Richard will regularly explain what’s going on in the global economy and financial markets in “QUESTions Answered.” This follows the launch in March of the popular Quest Means Business newsletter.
Nina dos Santos debuts “Nina’s Number” – her dissection of big corporate or economic data dominating the news agenda. This will also feature on Nina’s show, CNNMoney View.
And we’ll have an Asian edition of “The Buzz,” CNNMoney’s take on the biggest market moves of the day and the trends investors and traders need to know.
What’s next? In the coming months look for new hires for social and video and updates to our markets pages that will make it easier for you to track the big global moves, and for international versions of our economy, companies and tech sections. And keep an eye out for special in-depth coverage of the U.K.’s referendum on Europe in June.
