Tim Race, a longtime staffer on the New York Times business news desk who left the paper at the end of last year, has joined FleishmanHillard’s New York City office.
Race will serve as a senior level strategist, helping design and shape the editorial approach for clients.
“We’re excited to add Tim to our growing roster of former journalists,” said FleishmanHillard president J.J. Carter in a statement. “His decades leading business coverage will provide us with insight from an editorial perspective that will help deliver fair and balanced stories for our clients.”
His last position at the Times was energy, autos and transportation editor. Before that, Race did a four-year stint as European business editor in London.
He was also business health care editor from January 2004 to April 2010, Monday business editor from April 1998 to January 2004 and technology editor, a position he held from January 1991 to April 1998.
Race has master’s degrees from American University and Bowling Green State University.
