Laura Goldberg, senior editor for new and niche products and training for the past two years, has left the Houston Chronicle.
Goldberg, who also spent 10 years as the Chronicle’s business editor, is looking for new opportunities. Her background includes digital start-ups and other digital expertise as well as significant energy coverage experience.
She joined the Chronicle in 1998 as a business reporter, first covering airlines and then energy. She was named business editor in 2006 and was among the first in the newsroom to lead her department from a print-centric focus to a digital-first model.
Goldberg also oversaw the launch of the paper’s FuelFix website, which covers the energy industry.
Before the Chronicle, Goldberg worked as a reporter at the Cincinnati Enquirer and the Fort Meyers News-Press in Florida.
