Jodi Xu Klein has left Bloomberg News to join South China Morning Post in its global expansion as its first U.S. business correspondent.

Klein will continue to cover business and finance, with a focus on the intersection of Wall Street and Chinese investors, and be based in New York.

The beat covers U.S. business trends related to Chinese transactions across sectors as well as the impact of the changing investment landscape for U.S. banks, law firms, hedge funds, and private equity/venture capital investors.

Klein worked at Bloomberg for five years, covering corporate restructuring and private equity.

The South China Morning Post, an English-language newspaper, was founded in 1903 by Australian and British journalists in Hong Kong. The North America bureau launched earlier this year.

The publication was bought by billionaire Jack Ma’s Alibaba Group two years ago.
