Robert Long has been named managing editor for Kiplinger.com, a new position that will manage daily editorial operations across the site. Long will also take the lead in the ongoing integration with Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine and Kiplinger’s business forecasting newsletters.
Long joins Kiplinger from AARP, where he launched companion websites to the world’s largest-circulation publications — AARP Bulletin, AARP The Magazine, and AARP Segunda Juventud. As executive producer of AARP.org, he was part of a leadership team that earned many prestigious awards, including the 2009 National Magazine Award for best online interactive feature.

Prior to AARP, Long was senior strategist at web consulting firm Etensity and was editorial director for pioneering dot-coms such as VirtualEmporium.com and Foofoo.com. His print background includes stints at trade-newsletter publishers Ragan Communications and United Communications Group.
AÂ graduate of Syracuse University , Long and his wife Amanda live in Falls Church , Va. , with their beagle.
