Allison Kaplan has been named the new editor of Twin Cities Business magazine, replacing Dale Kurschner.

A story on its website states, “Kaplan, a Minnesota-native, brings more than 20 years of journalism experience to her new role, including tenure at two of the Twin Cities’ most reputable news organizations including Mpls. St.Paul Magazine and Pioneer Press.

“As the first female Editor-in-Chief, Kaplan succeeds Dale Kurschner and will work to reach the next generation of entrepreneurs and leaders while maintaining the current readership of the magazine. In an effort to remain on the cutting-edge of how readers consume news, Kaplan’s priorities include implementing plans to increase online traffic and social media engagement and further develop the TCB e-newsletters.

“‘Allison’s impressive experience and integrity as both a journalist and an entrepreneur are a perfect match for the transformative vision we have for Twin Cities Business,” says Gary Johnson, president of MSP Communications, which owns Twin Cities Business.

“Kaplan’s direction for Twin Cities Business will pay homage to established Minnesota businesses while shining a spotlight on what some might have previously considered unconventional businessmen and businesswomen working in their home office, co-working space and beyond.”
