Jacksonville paper cuts two business reporters

Florida Times-UnionBusiness reporters Roger Bull and Drew Dixon are among those who have been laid off at the Florida Times-Union, the daily newspaper in Jacksonville, reports A.G. Gancarski of Florida Politics.

Dixon has been with the paper since June 2003. He primarily covers the government beats at the beaches and also writes for the business section.

Before joining the Times-Union, he was a correspondent for the Orlando Sentinel and a government and general assignment reporting for Vero Beach Press Journal, St. Lucie News and Stuart News, all in Florida.

Dixon has also been teaching philosophy as an adjunct at Jacksonville University.

Bull covered everything from real estate to retail and CSX Corp., the large train company based in Jacksonville. He also covered business stories related to the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars.
