Former Wall Street Journal real estate bureau chief Rob Hunter has taken a job as marketing director for the consulting firm Oliver Wyman, focusing on financial services.
He starts on Monday.
“I’m sad to leave The Journal and journalism but excited to make use of many of the skills I’ve developed over the past two decades and also develop some new ones,” said Hunter in an email.
Hunter left The Journal last month.
He joined the real estate team in 2014. He previously worked on the Money & Investing, where he oversaw the banking group. Prior to that, Hunter was the personal finance editor, overseeing the Weekend Investor section and its online manifestations.
Before The Journal, Hunter worked at Bloomberg BusinessWeek, where he was assistant managing editor for features, and at SmartMoney.
Before that, Hunter was a senior editor and then the managing editor of Derivatives Strategy, a monthly magazine. He began his journalism career as a reporter at the Waterford, NY-based newspaper, The Good News.
