An investor and entrepreneur announced Tuesday the launch of the Boulder-based Hemp Business Journal, with a plan for the first print edition to hit mailboxes in December.
Joshua Lindenstein of BizWest writes, “The magazine, which will go live online in mid-November, will provide reporting and analysis on the industrial cannabis industry in the United States. While much of the discussion around the legalization of cannabis in Colorado and other states has centered on recreational and medicinal use, industrial cannabis — which is void of THC, the element that gets users ‘high’ — has a wide range of uses, such as textiles, food and building materials.
“The print edition of Hemp Business Journal will be printed on hemp paper and published 10 times per year.
“‘I believe hemp has the potential to improve so much about the footprint we leave on Earth, as well as to build new enterprises and create jobs,’ Murphy said in a prepared statement. ‘So as an impact investor it attracted me immensely. Yet little is known about how the industry is unfolding in the United States. Hemp needs much more institutional scrutiny, for investors, for people who want to create hemp products, for farmers and for the media.'”
