FT’s Eastern Europe editor moving to lead editorial writer

Neil Buckley, the Financial Times’ Eastern European editor for the past eight years, is moving to a new job next month.

“I’m moving next month to be ’s chief leader writer (editorial writer),” wrote Buckley on Twitter. “I’ll still write editorials on the region — among other things — so hope to stay in touch with many who made this job so rewarding.”

Buckley has been with the FT since 1991. He was a correspondent in Brussels from 1996 to 2000 and a correspondent in New York  from 2002 to 2004.

He was also Moscow bureau chief from 2005 to 2008 and a columnist on the FT’s influential Lex column  from 2000 to 2002 and 2008 to 2010.
