Forbes starts podcast series aimed at young women entrepreneurs

Forbes podcastsForbes announced Tuesday a series of podcasts that have a target audience of young women entrepreneurs.

There will be 10 separate podcast series, with each initially producing a dozen shows during the next six months. An estimated 57 million Americans tune into podcasts regularly, according to Edison Research. In one survey 18 percent of women said they had listened to a podcast in the past month, up from 9 percent in 2013.

“Today if you see a woman with headphones, she is increasingly tuning in to a podcast with her listening options ranging from the oddly entertaining to the empowering,” said Christina Vuleta, Forbes vice president of the Women’s Digital Network, in a statement. “We’re excited about the opportunity to bring new voices to podcasting and leverage the medium to help millennials bring their own stories to life.”

Some of the podcasts include:

  • Mentoring Moments with host and Forbes contributor Denise Restauri, who interviews women about their high points and low points;
  • Two Inboxes with host Molly Ford Beck, digital marketer and founder of SmartPrettyAndAwkward.com, who will tackly life with multiple jobs, projects, and email addresses.
  • Uncommon Ground with host Alli Breen, stand-up comic and Fox News contributor, who will explore one man’s and one woman’s experiences in the same field; and
  • And/And with hosts Sloane Davidson, founder of Farsight Media; and Taylor Davidson, founder of Foresight: How to Thrive at Your Family and Your Career, Together; on the tension between personal, professional, creative, philanthropic, and entrepreneurial goals.

Forbes already has a podcast called The Premise hosted by managing editor Bruce Upbin where Forbes writers and editors explore the technology changes affecting companies, industries or a portfolio.
